Emma's 3rd Birthday Party

Yesterday was Emma's 3rd birthday party! She wanted a "wild animal" party. Brittany made the cutest lion cupcakes!

I bought Emma the cutest panda bear outfit to wear to her wild animal party, complete with matching panda bear earrings. Emma asked me to take a photo of her earrings.
The kids wore animal masks. This is Emma with her best friend, Lela.
Opening her gifts.
Uncle Keaton gave her a wild animal puzzle.
Uncle Brennan gave her a beta fish and an a small aquarium. She immediately named the fish "Bruce" after the shark in Finding Nemo.
Emma loves to dress up in her Disney princess dresses. Everyone knows that every princess needs a throne. So guess what Giffy and Papa gave Emma? It's personalized, too! It plays a royal procession and says, "Introducing Her Royal Highness, Princess Emma!"
My sweet and very talented friend, Gretchen (Chichiboulie), painted this lion for Emma. Of course, he is surrounded by daisies and has a tiny ladybug on his mane! Emma loves him!
This is Audrey, the daughter of our sweet friends, Mark and Cheri. She and Brittany have literally been friends since they were born. Emma adores Audrey!

Emma with Kristin and "baby Dylan." Dylan is sooooooo cute!

What a fun party!

Yup, I Am One Proud Mama!!!!!!!!!

My son, Brennan, was accepted into graduate school (electrical engineering) at Stanford!
WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!

Another Fabulous Friday!

Yes, I am one of those people~the kind that loves, loves, LOVES the snow! I took this shot from my front porch a few hours ago. You can actually see snowflakes mid-air!
Here's Miss Emma snuggling with Wylie.
This is my card for this week's Bellariffic Friday challenge, which was to make a winter-sport-themed card. Yes, I realize that it's shocking that I didn't use Glideabella (a figure skater). But I have really enjoyed watching all of the Olympic snowboarding events, so Daisyboardabella got to be the star. If only I were 30 years younger... (Supplies.)

From the Mouths of Babes...

Emma has a little necklace which emits the lovely singing voice of Ariel, the Disney princess. I was doing my very best imitation of the song. I asked Emma if I sounded like Ariel. Her exact words: "Actually, Giffy, you sound like Bob the tomato." (Bob is a Veggie Tales character.) I am 47 and am a singing tomato. Princess. Tomato. Princess. Tomato. Really~she couldn't have chosen princess? So much for my self esteem! Lesson learned: never ask a 3-year-old a question if you don't want to hear the honest answer. LOL

Snow Bunny

In honor of the Winter Olympics, this months Bella's Twisted Challenge (by the fabulous Pinky) was to use your country's colors and to use five circles (like the five Olympic rings). I used Snowbunnybella by Stamping Bella~and I wish I looked this cute in my snow gear!
I realize the colors are a bit off for the USA, but I love this red, white, and blue combo. And my snowflakes didn't look quite right on the circles, so I abandoned them. I ended up layering the jeweled snowflakes on top of the felt ones, for a total of five. So I guess my card doesn't really meet the challenge at all, but I still like it! Sorry, Pinky! (Supplies.)

Oh, a fun touch was adding Polar White Flower Soft as the snow. This was the first time I had used Flower Soft. I think I am hooked! (Thanks, Lori!)

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Birthday, Emma!

Today is Emma's 3rd birthday! And just in case you don't already know this, I absolutely adore Emma! She is the cutest grandchild ever! Did I mention that I adore her???

Brittany took the day off so that the three of us could spend Emma's birthday together. We let Emma plan our day. Here's how it unfolded:

First, Brittany gave Emma some flowers~daisies, of course!
Emma asked if we could have breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts, specifically a pink donut with sprinkles. We rarely eat donuts, so this was a treat for all three of us! Of course, Emma wore her tiara all day. (She told me that I can wear it on my birthday. Rick got a real kick out of that! As if I need the tiara to qualify! LOL) Anyway, the employees at Dunkin' Donuts thought Emma was sooo cute. As we left, they gave her a second donut to take home. Yup, we were off to a princess start bright and early!
Next we hit the mall. Brittany and I popped into Bare Escentuals. The sales ladies were quite enamored with Emma and her tiara! They sat her at table and put "sparkles" on her eyelids and lips. Beacuase I am the grandma, I get to just laugh at this and think it's incredibly cute! Brittany, however, should be very scared: 3 years old and loving make-up and all things sparkly!
She even smacked her lips like Mommy does!
And what's a trip to the mall on your birthday without a ride on the carousel?
Then we went to the Disney store. Emma's Great Grandma Scott (my mom) sent her a Disney gift card. Emma knew exactly what she wanted~this Ariel accessory kit to use in her Ariel salon.
Next up was lunch at Chipotle. Emma loves quesadillas, beans, and guacamole!
After her nap, Emma and Tiffany did the birthday dance. Too cute!
Emma is really into stamping and coloring. Brittany customized a little cart for her and filled it with stamping goodies. Emma loves it!
We are giving Emma her "big" gift at her party on Saturday. But I couldn't let the day go by without giving her a little something. I made this card for her, using another adorable digital stamp from Christy Croll, aka Tiddly Inks. (Supplies.)
And, of course, I had just had to give Emma a kokeshi doll for her collection. (Thanks, Christy Stanford, for being my personal kokeshi doll shopper in Japan!) Emma loves her new doll!
Emma asked Mommy to make butterfly (bow tie) pasta, meatballs, bruschetta, and salad for her birthday dinner, followed by a rainbow chip cake.
Happy, happy birthday, Emma! I'll love you to infinity and beyond forever and ever!
