"O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you..." Psalm 63:1
May you delight in Him today!
"Amani Children's Home is dedicated to the protection of Tanzania's most vulnerable population: street-children and AIDS orphans. Since its founding by local Tanzanians in 2001, Amani Children's Home has rescued over 290 children from the perils of life on the streets, where children face a high risk of HIV transmission and malnutrition. We welcome donations from all who want to help us give these precious children a haven from neglect and abuse." (Quoted from www.amanikids.org)

Can you guess the theme for this week's Bellariffic Friday Challenge on Stamping Bella? No, not purple! LOL The theme is "anything birthday," which was perfect for me since I have several birthdays to celebrate. I used Allboxedupabella by Stamping Bella and PTI paper and ribbon. I am soooo loving these purples. Bet you couldn't tell! (Supplies.)
As you read this, I will be in LA celebrating my mom's 75th birthday! She had no idea I was going!
Today is my mom's 75th birthday. She lives in L.A., I live in Boston. I wish I was there to hug and kiss her, but "I love you, Mom" and "Happy, happy birthday!" will have to do. Well, that and some videos of her favorite girl, Miss Emma.
As I was cooking dinner, Emma walked into the kitchen with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for me. She announced, "Giffy, these are your favorite color~purple!" She said that she gave them to me just because she loves me. Life just doesn't get much better than this!
I love this stamp set by SU~Refuge and Strength. I used it to make some simple cards with no coloring. My hand appreciated that! Here are five variations using this stamp set. All of the paper, ink, ribbon, and buttons are by PTI. (Supplies.)
I also used SU's Flight of the Butterfly, Sprinkles, and Butterfly Punch for this card.
This is for BSC85 on SCS. I am pleased with how this one turned out~I love all of the purples and the splash of sunshine behind the flower pot! I used chalk to add the grass and sky. The paper is PTI, and the stamp is Pookie Lollipop by Stamping Bella. (Supplies.)
For this week's Bellariffic Friday challenge on Stamping Bella.com, Em challenged us to use "twinchies," aka 2" squares. I made this for a dear friend who just gave birth to her daughter, Alexa. Alexa's room is decorated in purple. The stamp is Take a Stand Maya by Tiddly Inks for Stamping Bella. (Supplies.)
Congratulations, Paloma and Pedro! Can't wait to meet Alexa!
I recently acquired SU's Of the Earth stamp set. ( I got it for free with Hostess benefits, which makes it even better!) I also picked up some supplies from Papertrey Ink. Amber got me totally hooked on their colors. They sell coordinating ribbon, buttons, and ink for their cardstock! I am soooo excited! Here are four color combos I used with this stamp set. I heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder. (Sorry for the bad lighting in the pictures.)
Aqua Mist and Plum Pudding
Well, I love the paper, ribbon, and buttons so much that I ordered it in Dark Chocolate and Lavender Moon, too! I just received it the other day. I'll be posting it soon!
Last week's Bellariffic Friday challenge on Stamping Bella was to create a love-themed card. Ella Lollipop (by Stamping Bella) is just soooo adorable that I couldn't resist using her again! (Supplies.)
Her name is O'Malley. She is a Maltese/Terrier mix that my mom "rescued." Mom says she is as sweet as can be! Could her face possibly be any cuter???
Yeah, I know, Mom~you will be soooooo mad at me for posting a picture of you in your sweats! But I am sure that all of my friends will agree that you are beautiful even in your sweats! Besides, O'Malley looks so cozy and comfy.
He may share his birthday with Elvis, but Rick's the one that rocks my world! Here are a few birthday photos of my sweetheart.
Rick and Brennan
Rick, Keaton, and Tiffany
Rick, being a good sport about wearing the ribbon Emma put on his head and about letting Tiffany rip the wrapping paper off of his gift!
For 23 years, the kids have been making Rick calendars for his birthday. I started the tradition with Brittany when she was old enough to scribble with crayons. When the kids were little, they illustrated it for him. Now, they make it with photos. He has every one of them. Who says guys aren't sentimental?
Rick, Brittany and Emma
I love this photo~Emma scratching Keaton's while they looked at the calendar!
Being a proud Dad, Rick loves wearing t-shirts and sweatshirts from the kids' colleges. He's lost 50 pounds n the last year, so none of his old shirts fit. So Keaton and Brittany both surprised him with new ones, neither one knowing that the other was doing it, too.
Emma helping Papa blow out the candle on his birthday brownies! She still doesn't understand why he didn't want a cake or a cupcake!
