Christmas Eve

I take a kazillion pictures. Seriously, way too many to count! Here are a few highlights from Christmas Eve, which is when we open our gifts from one another. Here's Tiffany (five months old) and her Christmas bow~it didn't last long. She can wiggle out of it pdq!
Emma with Keaton and his girlfriend, Tina.
The annual Christmas Eve photo.
Emma's room is decorated with daisies and ladybugs. When she saw this ladybug pillow in the mall, she exclaimed, "Giffy! Tiffany needs that pillow!" So Emma gave it to Tiffany for Christmas. (Indy and Wylie also got new beds, and Santa filled all three dogs' stockings with toys and treats. Yes, I am just that crazy! LOL)
Emma wanted her own laptop for Christmas! Guess you can tell we are a totally nerdy family, always on our computers. LOL Uncle Keaton gave her this pretty pink laptop loaded with learning games. She was thrilled!
When we were at Disneyland last summer, Brennan had this painting made for Emma~it's her name spelled out with the princesses!
We gave Emma Bitty Baby's changing table and everything that goes with it.
I am friends with our vet, Beth. Emma and Beth have a special friendship. Emma is enamored with Beth and her "Dr. Beth tools." It wouldn't surprise me at all if she grows up to be a vet! Mommy gave her a "Dr. Emma" vet kit. Emma loves it!
Emma gave her mommy a coffee maker. I love this picture. Emma is so proud of herself!
We gave Brittany a nook e-reader. Well, more like a certificate saying she will get it soon. We're still waiting for it to be shipped from Barnes and Noble. (I got one, too! Yippee!)
We gave Brennan a Blu-ray player.
We gave Keaton a backpacking tent and sleeping bag.
Here we are, still sweethearts after all of these years!
And here's one of my favorite shots of the evening. Emma put out milk and cookies for Santa, as well as oatmeal for the reindeer. She stared at the plate for a minute and then said, "Mommy, can I have a sip of Santa's milk?"
What a blessed holiday!

A Belated Merry Christmas!

All of us have been home for the last week. It's been so nice to have this family time. It seems that it comes less and less often now that the kids are adults and live in different places. Needless to say, I have been enjoying my family time and have been ignoring my computer. But this morning the men went skiing, so I have a few minutes to post a photo or two. My mom will be so happy!

Here are a few pre-Christmas photos. I love this one! Brittany was working on her Christmas cards. Emma decided to create her own Santa costume!
And here are my beautiful girls in front of the tree.
More later, I promise!

Gingerbread House

Emma and I made a gingerbread house. I decided it would be a fun tradition for me to start with her and future grandkids. Of course, we did as much tasting as we did assembling, but that was half the fun!
You can see my new haircut in this photo. I cut about 4" off!
We put me and Papa in front of a tree. Then she decided to add Robyn (my friend from CO who came to visit in July).
We put Emma and Brittany by the snowman. Then she added Brenda (Brittany's BFF) and Lela (Emma's BFF, our next door neighbor).
We added Uncle Brennan and Uncle Keaton. Then she added Tina, Uncle Keaton's girlfriend.
Her favorite part is the roof, complete with a chocolate Santa and a few chocolate reindeer!
Have a delicious week!

Jingle Bell Rock

I've had a nasty cold for two weeks, and my back has been out for five days (and by out I mean gone, won't move, kaput!), neither thing being conducive to stamping. But I have watched a lot of movies, mostly Christmas ones (It's A Wonderful Life, the original Miracle on 34th Street, The Preacher's Wife, Christmas with the Kranks, The Grinch, Charlie Brown Christmas, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Christmas Vacation, White name it, I've watched it!). And now Tiffany, my four-month-old ShihTzu, thinks that she really is a lap dog because that's where she's spent most of her time since I've been sick. Fine by me! After all, It's A Wonderful Life!

Yesterday, Emma begged me to stamp. She is quite busy working on "projects" for everyone for Christmas. Too cute! This week's Bellariffic Friday Challenge was to sew your card. This was quick and simple, but Emma really likes it!
"Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun..."

Happy Friday!

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town!

Yup, took Emma to see Santa. She was so excited!
She very politely, and very quietly, asked him for princess dresses and a stick horse. According to her Mommy, Santa is having a ridiculously hard time finding a stick horse! Apparently the elves aren't making them this year. UPDATE: My mom, aka Great Grandma Scott, found a stick horse that neighs! She is having it delivered courtesy of Santa! YIPPEE!!!
Santa liked her vest!
See you next year, Santa!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

This year, Brittany and Emma got their own tree. Emma was soooo excited!
Here's my Snow Village, a 20-year collection.

I needlepointed this pillow eight or nine years ago.
I cross-stitched this Marty Bell scene about fifteen years ago.
I made this poinsettia quilt a few years ago.
Here are a few things I painted before I wrecked my hand.
Of all the things I have ever made, this is my favorite! I painted the sign and made the stockings. All of the stockings are made with felt, except for Emma's, which is needlepoint. The felt ones are starting to fade and and distress. Emma's will last forever!
Here's Tiffany getting into trouble as we tried to trim our tree.
I gave Emma what is really a kokeshi doll keychain, but I told her it's an ornament. After all, it she wearing a red dress and has a jingle bell on her. Emma loves it!
Happy decorating!
