Keaton and his guitar

We will drop Keaton off at West Point on Monday.
One of the many things I will miss will be the sound
of him playing his electric guitar.

This is for this week's color challenge. I used CTMH paper, Taylored Expressions ribbon, SU Hodgepodge Hardware brads in silver, Stickles, and a pewter cowboy boot charm.

Happy Birthday, Em!

Another SCS challenge was to make a birthday card for Em, our beloved friend and the queen of Stamping Bella! I used SU Berry Bliss paper, ribbon from Taylored Expressions, Stickles, a sugared pink brad, and Bella's Dots in Glitter Light Cocoa.

Cyber Bridal Shower

On Tuesday, a bunch of Stamping Bella addicts enjoyed a cyber bridal shower on SCS for Sparkle! It was SO MUCH FUN! Congrats, Sparkle! Part of the fun included three card challenges.

Challenge #1: Create a card using something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue
The author in me couldn't resist telling a story with this one! Rick and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary in August, and this was the perfect theme for a card for that event. Here's the story:

Something old: the ribbon in the upper left corner is from the garter I wore at my wedding; also, a picture of us as a bride and groom in 1983! Pink and grey were our wedding colors, and all of the paper is pearlized. I paper pieced the bridal gown with pearlized paper. too.

Something new: a picture of us as grandparents now, holding our sweet grand-daughter, Emma; also, everything I used to make this card is new except for the garter bow.

Something borrowed: the quote on the top is from "our" song (written by Clint Black and called "When I Said I Do") The quote reads, "When I said I do, I meant that I will 'til the end of all time Be faithful and true, devoted to you That's what I had in mind when I said I do."

Something blue: Along the bottom edge of the card, there are 4 strips of ribbon, representing our four kids: one pink, three blue; also, the garter bow was blue, but is now quite faded.

I used pearlized paper in the colors from our wedding (pink and gray), liquid pearls, Stickles, Bella's pearl bonbons, and Bella's ribbon.

Challenge #2: Since the bride's name is Sparkle, we had to create a card with as much "sparkle" as possible! Mine is SO over the top, but was so much fun to make! I used CTMH Blue Ribbon paper, Bella's Dots in Glitter Blue Sky, Stickles, and glittered rick rack.

Challenge #3: Make a card using Sparkle's wedding colors: white, bamboo, and cranberry. I used CTMH paper, ribbon, Stickles, and I inked a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Jamie and Laura~THANK YOU for such a fun party!

Davis' Farmland

Brittany, Keaton and I took Emma to Davis' Farmland yesterday. It is the best petting zoo I have ever seen! Emma LOVES animals and had so much fun! She fed the sheep.

One baby goat jumped up into Brittany's lap!

Emma LOVES the hat that her Aunt Kristin bought for her last summer on Martha's Vineyard. Apparently, this little goat loved the hat, too!

Okay...this will totally freak out her Great Grandma Scott, but Emma loved the rat, too~even it's tail!

Check out the tongue on this cow!

Wendy Papillon

This was for BSC34 on SCS. The stamp is Stamping Bella's Wendy Papillon. The paper is Paper Garden from CTMH. I also used Stickles and some super cheap butterfly buttons that I found at Wal-Mart!

Maisy Sunshine

This card was for BCC33 on SCS. The colors needed to be CTMH Watermelon, Orange, and Amethyst. The stamp is Maisy Sunshine by Stamping Bella. I also used Stickles and Bella's Dots.

Wedding Card

This is the first wedding card I have ever made. It was fun! I made it for BSC32 on SCS. I paper-pieced the dress using pearl paper. The ribbon says "Mr. and Mrs." The sentiment was too big, so I stamped it on the inside. (Robert Browning, "Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be.") Here's the funny part: I didn't realize that I had smeared the glitter on her shoes until I saw the enlarged photo. Getting old is great! At least I was able to fix it.

Keaton's Graduation

Keaton graduated on Sunday.
He decorated his cap with Army camo.
You can see it here near the flag.
How cool is that?!

Keaton delivering his Salutatorian speech.

Keaton and his girlfriend, Tina.

Keaton's Senior Banquet

Keaton and his girlfriend, Tina Shea. She and Keaton were tied for Valedictorian. She received the top honors, and Keaton was Salutatorian. Tina will attend Stanford in the fall.

A group of girls met at one house to get dressed. Keaton
went over to pick up Tina--Rick let him drive the Porsche for his
big night! Keaton was the only guy there for the photos.

Giffy and Emma's Park

We finally got a playset for Emma! She LOVES to swing and slide! She also loves wearing the hat her Great Aunt Kristin bought for her last summer while visiting Martha's Vineyard.

Emma also loves to giggle! Check out this video clip!

Scrapbook Pages

Since I invested spent 20 years of time and money into my scrapbooks, I decided to go the extra step to make sure we never lose them to fire or flood. I am photographing all of the pages, burning the photos to discs, and storing the discs in a safety deposit box. I started with Emma's, of course! Actually, she has the least number of pages, so I figured I'd do hers and see how it goes. Here are some of my favorite layouts from her scrapbooks (yup...plural! She is only 15 months old, and I already have 2 scrapbooks for her!):
